Tideway: Greenwich Connection Tunnel - Secondary Lining

The 4.5km long Greenwich Connection section of the Thames Tideway Tunnel from Greenwich Pumping Station towards Chambers Wharf is being delivered by the Costain, VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Bachy Soletanche Joint Venture.

The secondary lining works have started with the successful completion of the first 500m.

The shutter system, engineered by KERN Tunneltechnik, represents the maximum technological expression currently on the market and comprises 6 automated hydrostatic fullround formworks with independent gantries, to support these works.

All machines have been fully pre-assembled and delivered as big components to optimize the installation and launching activities on site.
